Under the guidance of our Principal, the Department of Tamil started Naruvi Tamil Sangam and monthly events "Kamazhi" are conducted. In this event apart from Tamil department professors, all department Professors, students participate in Poetry Recitation, Essay writing, Seminar and Lecture expressing their love for Tamil.

2018-2019
Event 1
On 26.08.2018 The Principal Dr.Sr.Victoria presided and Asst Professor D.Amutha jyothi gave a lecture on Silapathigaram the first narrative poetry which integrates all people from different religions with the title "Silambil Samayam"
Event 2
On 11.08.18,A lecture and kaviyaadal was conducted.Paavalar N Ventriazhagan(Muthamizh Muttram Kaliilakiya Peravai) participated and delivered speech about ancient Tamil & excellence. Poet Raghav Mahesh gave Kaviyaadal.
On 11.09.2018, the death anniversary of Bharathiyaar Special Speech programme was organized Department wise two students from first year and two students from second year participated.For first year students the topic was bride for poetry and for second year students the topic for poetry was the world is yours.
Event 3
On 13.10.18 at the event of Dr APJ Abdul kalam birthday a painting competition was conducted for first and second year students.The heading was "your dream about future India"
Event 4
Competition regarding Tamil proverbs which are not in use and its meaning was conducted on the event of Bharathiyar birthday for second year students.
Event 5
On 18.02.2019, World mother tongues day a function was held and presided by Dr Sister Cathelina, Principal Bon Secours College Thanjavur.The special guest: Mr Manimaaran, Tamil Pandit, Saraswathi Mahal Library Thanjavur .The chief guest gave a lecture and it was useful to the students.The book "Silpathigara Surukam" was given to all professors who participated in this event on behalf of Tamil department.
2017-2018
Event 1
On 1.8.2017 the Asst. Professor Dr. S. Sathya gave a lecture on Pandit Asalambigai Ammaiyaar.The event was presided by the head of the department.On this occasion Vice Principal and all department professors participated and learnt about Pandit Asalambigai Ammaiyaar.
Event 2
On 06.12.2017 Asst. Prof. of Tamil B.Anuradha gave a special lecture on Poet Pugalendhi.All the Members of the Staff participated and learnt about Poet Pugazhendhi.
Event 3
On 11.9.2017 The Department of Tamil Organized special poetry narration.In this event,The members of all the departments exhibited their poetical skill.
Event 4
On 4.12.2017 Word Disabled Day, Proverb writing competition was conducted for students.Second year students around 50 in numbers participated in this event.In this S. Darshini from Chemistry Department won the competition.Darshini was given prize and was appreciated by Vice Principal.
Event 5
On the occasion of Maha kavi Bharathiyars 135th birthday (18.12.2017) a special Lecture was delivered on the Title "Tamil and me". The lecturers from other department used this event for expressing their love for Tamil and exhibiting their talents.
Event 6
On Occasion of Republic Day and death anniversary of Mahathma Gandhi Professors presented poetry about patriotism and Independence.These poems was compiled into a book.

On 24.02.2018, World mother tongues day was celebrated.It was presided by Dr.Sr.Victoria, Principal and chief guest was entrepreneur Dubai S R Natarajan. Special guest was:Dr R Kaliyaperumal,secretary Venkatasamy Naataar College, Thanjavur Was released on that day "Pudhiyavergal"
